Blitz on rogue A boards along Western Road

As part of a "day of action", the residents of Brunswick and Regency areas community groups, LAT's and Neighbourhood Action Group are reporting all street obstructions, A Boards and other access issues along the Western Road in Hove to the Castle Square corridor. The reports include any over sized boards, premises not displaying the council licence, and where the amount of items exceeds the licence.

This is being done to assist the public, disabled or otherwise but to help the council officers monitor any breaches of the rules and improve the area generally.

A final count of apparent breaches has so reached over a dozen reports and a large photographic dossier is being collated. The council officers are being very supportive of this community crackdown Brunswick & Regency Neighbourhood Action Group is available at www.br-nag.org.uk and the East Brunswick Residents Association website at www.eastbrunswick.co.uk

why bother reporting them? Why not just kick them over and stuff them into the Communal Bins which also block the streets? Honestly, no sense of fire or imagination.

The last effort to clear up this issue involved turning all the boards sideways so you couldnt see the advertising.. or dumping them in the pavement.. will wait till the new licences go out before more action is taken i suppose..
