The location and programme may be a secret, but the day planned by the Sharing Service Sector media company promises to be unique. But not the last event of its kind, as Benita Matofska, Chief Sharer of The People Who Share company, says “The day is a beginning of an amazing journey.”

The Brighton Fringe Festival is hosting two events, of 200 people each, on the Saturday but what the day will contain is still a secret. If you want to attend the premiere event in community sharing you have to sign up for a ticket online and wait until 24 hours before the day to find out what you must bring in order to start sharing with the city of Brighton.

Don’t worry if you don’t feel you have any items worth sharing, it’s also a day of swapping your skills with others and there will be opportunities to learn new skills yourself from various acts that will be performing. The only rule they have is that you DO NOT buy anything to bring to the event!

Benita insists that they passionately love this city and that the ethos and values of Brighton are the perfect place to launch their long-term plans of social change. And on the 23rd of May they have been invited to meet the Prime Minister as they start their movement to get 2million people sharing.

The non-profit organisation launched on the 17th of January and is based on the premise that we as individuals do not need to buy more things but can build connections in our community by sharing what we already own.
