World premiere of Brighton composer's work

11:40am Thursday 28th August 2008

The concert series at St Luke’s Church hosts a world premiere performance of Music Hall Moments by Paul Lewis tomorrow (Friday August 29).

Brighton-born Lewis has been composing for TV since the 1960s. Monty Python and Benny Hill are among those to have featured his music.

The concert features pianist Rachel Fryer and has a “masquerade” theme with works linked to music hall and characters such as Pierrot.

The programme includes Schumann’s Carnaval, Suite Bergamasque by Debussy and Harlequinade by Peter Thorogood.

The performance – at the church in Queen’s Park Road in Brighton – starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £6 (£4 concessions).
