Better buses on the way

9:41pm Monday 1st September 2008

Disabled and older people in Queen’s Park are to benefit from an improved bus service.

The 37 route from the centre of Brighton to Kemp Town is to be served by a new fleet of buses with low floors. The route is part-funded by Brighton and Hove City Council.

Ben Duncan, Green Party councillor for Queen’s Park, said the new fleet was good news and followed a barrage of complaints.

He added: “Brighton and Hove prides itself on being a city which celebrates its diversity and one of the best bus networks in the country.

“But for too long bus travel has not been a realistic option for many disabled and older people in the Queen’s Park and Kemp Town areas.”
