An Economics student plans to climb Mount Everest to help raise money for charity, as well as teaching English to children at a nearby Nepalese school.
The expedition will be in aid of an up-and-coming charity Childreach International.
The charity works with communities in the developing word to try and improve children's access to education, healthcare, child rights and protection.
The fundraiser, Rebecca Lambley, from Ovingdean, said: "This September, I have been offered an invaluable opportunity to travel to Nepal and witness first hand the impact Childreach International has on communities over there.
"Being brought up in a protected and loving environment as a child is something many of us take for granted and do not even think about the millions of children across the globe who are stripped of their access to education, healthcare and basic human rights."
In order to raise sponsorship, Rebecca will be holding several events over the next few months in Brighton and Norwich.
She plans to raise £2,450 before trekking off to Mount Everest on September 1 for a total of 28 days.
Rebecca heard about the opportunity to raise money at the University of East Anglia, where she is currently studying for a BSc in Economics.
