Work has started on a £28m flagship academy building, due to be completed by september 2011.
The new academy will have the resources to educate 1,150 students aged 11-19, including a sixth form.
The specialisms of sport and entrepreneurship will help develop confident and healthy students. There will be new curriculum opportunities, a new uniform and state of the art tecnology.
