Laughter filled the Long Man pub last Saturday as it staged a second successful comedy night featuring seven amateur comedians.
The event was hosted by local comedian Adam Haddington who began the night with his own set before introducing a number of comedians both local and from outside the area.
When asked about the purpose of the event Mr Haddington said: “I wanted somewhere to do my own thing, somewhere to give people the chance to perform and somewhere for the people of Patcham to see it and get involved.”
The Long Man Laughter Lounge featured the comedy stylings of Mr Rich Perry, Mr Phil Reid, Miss Sam Savage, Mr Pete Beckley, Mr Ged Butcher and Mr Flange Krammer. In total the event ran for just over 2 hours beginning at nine pm.
Mr Krammer, a German Olympic skier or in reality the comic alter ego of local resident Neil Dagley, finished the night off by welcoming audience members to participate in humorous game shows.
Mr Krammer when discussing why he wanted to participate said: “Well I can’t keep skiing forever. I need a career for when I’m finished wowing the crowds at Bracknell dry ski slope.”
The main aim of the Laughter Lounge was to bring the community of Patcham together and get them involved with comedy. This was a resounding success as both audience members and comedians positively engaged with one another.
One female audience member said: “Once it all got going, it was good. I had tears in my eyes for the laughter.”
