Trafalgar Road was due to be closed for two weeks for major electrical works but has reopened after four days.
Motorists and residents of Abinger Road, Wolseley Road and Crown Road wil be pleased as traffic has been using these roads as a rat run.
The next problem is to get Victoria Road open again before the Rememberance Parade from the Town Hall to Easthill Park on November 9.
The parade leaves the Town Hall at 10.20am, arriving at Easthill Park for the 11am service conducted by Father Richard Rushforth.
The Portslade branch of the Royal British Legion hosts this event, which is one of the most impressive in the city.
