Seaford residents are being given the opportunity to vote for their Favourite Independent Retailer of the Year as part of a new Christmas shopping scheme in the town.
The scheme, set up by Seaford Town Councillor, Sam Adeniji, gives people the chance to support local independent shops and stand a chance of winning £100 to spend in the shop they voted for.
Coun Adeniji said: “I am hoping about 1,000 people will take part and that it will be a success if it is widely-publicised.”
Residents will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite independent retailer from Saturday, November 24 to Sunday, December 23, and can vote in-store, online or by post.
The shops people can vote for include Ambers Florist, Scoop & Weigh grocers and Wynnes & Seaford Fencing.
The scheme is being supported by Christmas Shopping in Seaford Month and the winner will be crowned People’s Favourite Retailer of the Year 2012.
