3:11pm Sunday 9th January 2011 in Seaford By Donna Vaughan
Seahaven FM launched its live radio station with a party at 12 noon today at the station in Saxon Lane, Seaford.
Seahaven FM radio began as an internet station three years ago and was the dream of Nick Mallinson, Managing Director.
Nick said, “It's been a three-year trek with many false starts and set-backs. We've finally made it, we've got the station on air and it's better than we expected.”
Over 100 people packed into the modest offices behind the wrought iron gates of the Office Bar and Club in Saxon Lane, Seaford. Peacehaven Mayor, Chris Ogden; Newhaven Mayor, Graham Amy; Young Mayor of Seaford, Oscar Hardy and Seaford's Town Crier, Peter White and many others joined the team to celebrate the launch.
Brian Clarke, secretary of Newhaven Coastwatch came in to wish Seahaven FM best wishes on behalf of all the volunteers at the Newhaven Station. Seahaven FM is using the mast at Newhaven Coastwatch to host its transmitter.
Listen to the station by tuning into 96.3 FM or by going to www.seahavenfm.com.
