An appeal for information has been launched after Police were called to the scene of an assault in Seaford on Friday 18th February.

The incident took place at around 10pm in Sutton Drove and is believed to have been an unprovoked attack.

After answering a knock on his front door to find nobody outside, the victim checked the front garden of his property where a male and female were sitting on his dustbins.

Upon challenging their reasons for being on his property the male suspect struck him, inflicting a black eye and knocking him to the ground. The victim was then subjected to further assault as the suspect kicked him.

The suspect and the female then fled the scene.

Police are now appealing for anybody with information on the assault to come forward and moved to reassure residents that incidents such as this are not a frequent occurrence.

PC Wood of Seaford Police said: “This was an unprovoked attack on the victim; we would like to talk to any person in the area at the time, and remind residents of Seaford that this type of incident is extremely rare.”
