Seaford Head Community College held its eighth annual fun run today (October 19).
Despite heavy rain approximately 1,100 students and around 100 members of staff ran the three-mile route along the beach from the Martello Tower to the Newhaven & Seaford sailing club and back.
Some students chose to dress up as superheroes or donned body covering morphsuits for the run
Head teacher, Lynton Golds, said: “This is a big event on the school’s calendar, it is our annual fundraising event.”
Mrs Golds added the school hoped to raise several thousand pounds for charity.
Charities supported by the school are a Cystic Fibrosis charity and the Make a Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children aged three to 17 living with life-threatening illnesses.
This comes just weeks after the school took part in Jeans for Genes day to help raise money for the charity, which provides funding for the care and support of children with genetic disorders.
