People have a chance to voice their concerns to the new Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner at the Woodingdean Tenants’ and Residents’ Association AGM on Wednesday, February 13.

Katy Bourne will discuss important issues with the public and listen to feedback on her draft Police and Crime Plan at 7.30pm at Woodingdean Community Centre.

Mrs Bourne said: “I want residents to tell me their priorities – what matters to them and what I can do to make people feel safer in Sussex.

“In my role as PCC I will be working closely with the police, partners and residents to identify and tackle local issues.”

Police are working hard in Woodingdean to combat speeding traffic and antisocial behaviour.

Mrs Bourne said: “I have attended several early-turn briefings with police officers to keep informed of local issues. And I recently accompanied officers as part of Operation Marble to see how they police Brighton’s night-time economy.”

Mrs Bourne also described how meetings such as the AGM in Woodingdean are vital in her new role.

She said: “I was elected by Sussex residents and I want them to know I am an accessible commissioner and a strong voice for local people in the fight against crime.”

The draft Police and Crime Plan, which is published at www.sussex-pcc.gov.uk, sets out policy priorities and local objectives for Sussex, such as community safety and maintaining value for money.
