Hopefully one of your readers, or possibly someone from Sussex Police, can help me out of my confused state.

Perhaps they can explain why it is quite all right for hundreds of people to ride around the busiest parts of Brighton during a weekend, stark naked, without any fear of prosecution.

However, when a 63-year-old gentleman decides to sunbathe naked in a private garden, he is persecuted by the police and courts (The Argus, June 22).

It is either within the law to be naked in public places or against the law. The police need to make up their minds and apply this law to everyone.

Let's not have one law for the individual and another for the vociferous minority.
