Three bedroom homes have become the most sought after property at CALA Homes’ Cresswell Park development in Angmering; making up 53 per cent of the homes sold since the start of the year. A shortage of three bedroom semi-detached properties across the country has seen discerning buyers quick to snap up one of these popular house types.

Research by CALA Homes carried out last year found that three bedroom homes were the most popular choice for homebuyers, with first time buyers, second steppers and downsizers all seeking a similar type of property. 55 per cent of first time buyers said they had leapfrogged the traditional first time buyer property to buy a larger home to meet their needs for longer. More than 60 per cent said they bought a house with three bedrooms or more. Retirees were also following a growing trend to ‘rightsize’ rather than downsize, with more than half buying a home which was of a similar size or bigger than their previous property.

Nicki Dennis, regional sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (South Home Counties), said: “The preference for younger buyers to skip the first rung of the property ladder, families looking for more space and a reluctance by older generations to downsize is resulting in a real spike in demand for three bedroom properties at Cresswell Park. We offer a range of different three bedroom designs which have all been snapped up by local buyers attracted to the flexible living space and quality specification.

“This development offers something very special for families and those seeking the perfect work-life balance. Not only do you benefit from the beautiful location, but Angmering offers everything you need to deal with the demands of family life with good local schools, a pub, shops, cafes and leisure facilities.

“We have a selection of three bedroom homes now available so if you’re thinking of making a move, come and take a look around our new showhomes and see for yourself what this popular development has to offer.”

The Henbury and Kenton are the most popular three bedroom homes at Creswell Park with the first phase of properties now all reserved. However, a selection of new Henbury house types and for the first time some larger Kenton designs have just been released for sale and CALA is encouraging anyone interested to get in quick to avoid missing out.

The attractive elevations, which come in a range of finishes including brick and flint give The Henbury instant kerb appeal. Inside, the kitchen/breakfast room offers plenty of space for family mealtimes or entertaining, while French doors and a bay window give the sitting room a light and airy feel. On the first floor is the master bedroom with generous en suite, third bedroom and family bathroom. At the top of the house is a second en suite bedroom with fitted wardrobe and home study. The Henbury is priced from £340,000 and is available with Help to Buy. The Government backed scheme is also proving extremely popular at the development with 40 per cent of buyers using it to get on or move up the property ladder.

Also available at Cresswell Park is a range of four bedroom homes priced from £425,000. Each of the homes offers light and spacious interiors and generous surroundings centred around an attractive green, including a safe children’s play area and open spaces.
