Sawyer & Co. Director, Chris Sawyer appointed 130th President of the Brighton & Hove Estate Agents Association for 2016
Last week saw Chris Sawyer, Director at award-winning estate agents Sawyer & Co., become the 130th President of the Brighton & Hove Estate Agents Association (BHEAA). Established in 1886, the BHEAA is managed by its President and Council members with a firm focus on improving and maintaining the highest standards possible within the profession.
In his acceptance speech, Chris set out the future plans of the BHEAA. Whilst continuing to raise funds for a host of local charities, during 2016 there will be a focus on training with plans to introduce quarterly seminars. Chris also announced his plans for a new, more inclusive membership system which will allow negotiators and property managers as well as business owners, directors and branch managers to become members. Along with a continued commitment to local charities Chris hopes these changes will help to promote best practice within the profession.
During the AGM at the Sussex County Cricket Ground, outgoing President Julie Frith passed over the title to Chris who will be holding a charity black tie BHEAA dinner at The Grand Hotel, Brighton tonight. Raising awareness and vital funds for The Clock Tower Sanctuary, the “No Long Speeches Guaranteed” evening will feature a short film about the work the charity does supporting homeless young people. It promises to be an evening of good food, live music and of course only short speeches!
The dinner is just one event that Chris has been involved in for The Clock Tower Sanctuary. Last year the team at Sawyer & Co. proved that they are willing to live up to their mantra of “Going the Extra Mile” by jumping out of a plane at 12,000 feet and completing a gruelling Spartan Run, all in aid of the charity. ‘The more I learn about them, the more I’m amazed by the work they do. The more we can do to support this work the better’ explained Chris.
Following hot on the heels of the charity dinner at The Grand, Sawyer & Co will be taking part in the Sussex Beacon Corporate Relay on 28th February of which they are the main sponsors this year.
