2016 has kicked off in some serious style. While some people were still digesting their mince pies or flying back from warmer climates, London buyers have been booking in viewings for hot properties to buy in Brighton and Hove. Estate agents across the board have experienced record January sales agreed figures, and more people appear to be coming down to view on day trips and making offers the same day and near the asking prices. Exciting times.

One hot-to-trot, young, busy IT entrepreneur from Richmond took no time in visiting the area one rainy Monday morning, looking to relocate and put an offer in the same evening via email. He was in a bidding war with two other London buyers but his decisiveness won the fight. I am delighted his find was a beautiful, entire top floor, sunny apartment situated on The Drive which I have thoroughly enjoyed renovating and designing to a high standard. He fell in love with it instantly, praising the amount of light the top floor received through all fourteen windows, the peacefulness of having the entire floor with nobody living above and, in particular, the stylish decor. He was impressed that the whole building was in very good condition, so a pleasure to walk into after a busy day. The large rooms were the deciding factor. Many properties have one good sized main bedroom and the rest are usually smaller but this particular property boasts three huge double bedrooms, similar to the sizes you find in five star hotels. A good find for a lucky man.

The Drive is a particularly popular address for people from London, not only because of the instant sea views when you step out of your front door but it is the main, easiest route straight out of central Hove on to the A27, perfect for commuting. The Drive consists of grand Victorian, clear yellow brick stonework buildings, and heading northwards you can see a contrast of stunning terracotta mansions with Tudor and Gothic pile features, so the Drive is an array of architectural excellence. The local church situated on this interesting road brings a lovely community feel with a range of diverse events and activities most weekends. I am sure the new owner of the apartment will enjoy his new surroundings.

If you are looking to buy and sell on the Drive, I would recommend Phillips and Still estate agents who have been professional throughout by securing the new owner.
