Parsons Son & Basley’s auction on 24th February was a rousing success with properties being sold across the entirety of East and West Sussex.

A freehold property with planning permission for six self-contained flats at Seaside, Eastbourne sold prior to the auction whilst over in West Sussex it was a clean sweep in Bognor Regis whereupon all five properties offered for sale sold for exceptionally high prices.

Auctioneer Simon Caplin said: “We can all have a go at selling properties in other part of Sussex from our Brighton offices, however what really makes a difference is actually having an office in these locations and, undoubtedly, our offices in Bognor Regis and Chichester have been the catalyst for success and the wonderful prices we have been able to achieve on behalf of our clients.

“One client said the main reason for instructing us to act on his behalf in this auction was the strategic positioning of our Bognor Regis and Chichester offices as he felt our expert local knowledge would be crucial in obtaining the price we ultimately achieved for his property.”

A two bedroom flat in Valencia Road, Worthing sold for almost £30,000 more than the lower end of the guide whilst in Millers Road, Brighton, a vacant ground floor flat sold for £28,000 above the lower end of its guide with three buyers going head to head. A garden flat in the centre of Brighton went under the hammer at a fraction over £200,000.

Simon said: “We are delighted with the amount of properties we sold and the prices we achieved on behalf of our clients, many of whom are still smiling.”
