Kim White and her staff at Westbeach Properties have been so pleased with the response from people since opening in Hove a few weeks ago.

Owner Kim said: “Being on Victoria Terrace, just along from the King Alfred, has such a great community spirit, from people living locally to the shop owners along that parade. Everyone looks out for each other which is the way it should be.

“Victoria Terrace has seen much change over the years. The site of Westbeach Properties used to be an old car showroom, Esquire Cars. The terrace is looking better than ever with a number of revamped shops. Number Two Victoria Terrace was once the home of artist Ida Verner whose work was donated to Hove Museum, so it is surprising to think the terrace was almost bulldozed in 1978.”

Westbeach Properties had been in the planning for three years as Kim wanted to create an agency which covered sales, lettings and holiday lets all under one roof. Whichever service an owner chooses for their property or investment can be advised upon, even if they wish to later go down another route, such as changing from a six month let to a holiday let in the summer.

Kim, who has been in the property industry in sales and lettings for 20 years, saw an exciting opportunity to combine the holiday market with different options. This has proved popular over the years and is still growing. Kim said: “This is a city to be proud of, not only a great place to grow up in, live and work in, but with all the developments that have taken place there are even more reasons to come here.”

Westbeach Properties is supporting The Clock Tower Sanctuary for young homeless people in Brighton by donating a percentage of the first month’s commission from sales and lettings. The charity helps get young people, aged between 16-25, off the streets. Kim feels passionately about this cause which is a situation that is ever increasing within the city. She also believes it is important for school leavers to be given the chance to gain experience and learn new skills and has welcomed Alfie to the team from Brighton City College’s apprenticeship scheme.
