A couple, who have finally realised their dream of home ownership after five years of renting, are now looking forward to summer weekends exploring the West Sussex countryside on their doorstep.

Mark, 58, and Clarissa Walton, 55, left behind their rental property in the village of Felbridge last year and moved to Miller Homes' Burleigh Woods development, just a few miles away in Crawley Down. They chose the four-bedroom Alder style property because of its three large reception rooms, spacious hallway and well-proportioned rooms.

Surrounded by walking and cycling trails and just a short drive from Kew’s magnificent Wakehurst Botanic Gardens, Burleigh Woods is a popular choice for buyers looking for a taste of the outdoors, and it was one of the many things that drew Mark and Clarissa to the development.

Clarissa, a global learning consultant for HSBC said: “What we love about this area is the beautiful countryside and walks on our doorstep. The village itself has plenty of amenities, including a health centre and schools. It is also close to East Grinstead train station so it is easy to get to London or Tunbridge Wells.”

After renting for a long time, Mark, an energy consultant, and Clarissa have enjoyed bringing personal touches to their new home. Clarissa said: “Because this is a new house, we did not need to do any decorating, but we have really enjoyed choosing all the finishes. We made use of Miller Homes’ incentives, which meant we could treat ourselves to some new furniture and lights.”

Describing the moving process, Clarissa added that the sales team at Burleigh Woods were always on hand to guide them, and she shared with friends and family on social media. Clarissa said: “They provided excellent care from start to finish, particularly from Jane O’Brien our sales adviser and we have been impressed with the after care service too. I decided to share it on social media because it’s nice to recognise those who do a good job within the local community. I also wanted to show people how we’d made the house our own.”

Tracey Lee, regional operations director for Miller Homes Southern, said: “We are always pleased to hear from people who have settled into one of our homes. The fact that their move was so smooth is testament to our dedicated sales team, who ensure customers always feel fully informed and taken care of.

“As Mark and Clarissa have shown, part of the pleasure of moving into a new home is that it’s a blank canvas to put your own stamp on. In terms of location, Burleigh Woods is perfect for anyone who loves the peace and tranquillity of the countryside, while still being close to major cities.”

As well as Burleigh Woods, Miller Homes has a number of developments in West Sussex including the exclusive Mulberry Fields in Southwater and Bader Heights in Tangmere.
