Leaders’ Christmas window creates an artistic stir in Hove

Local letting specialists Leaders of 98 Church Road Hove were delighted to unveil their stunning Christmas window display this week.

Created in partnership with the unique gift and homeware store Lulu & Hitch of 96 Church Road and photographer Tony Bowall FRPS, the striking display - which has a strong local theme - is creating a real Christmas stir in Hove.

Lulu & Hitch, which opened for business earlier this year, is a unique shop with a strong emphasis on beautiful recycled, locally made and fair trade goods. They are thrilled to have helped Leaders create their eye-catching Christmas display and at the same time help to promote the work of talented local photographer Tony Bowall.

Tony was this year awarded the highest distinction by the Royal Photographic Society and was also presented with a rare and prestigious medal by the London Salon of Photography for one of his photographs ‘Hove in the Snow’. His work is well known and loved in Brighton & Hove and Leaders are delighted that their Christmas window will incorporate some of his iconic work.

Commenting on the joint venture, Leaders’ Hove branch manager Gail Scannell said: “As a company with our roots firmly in Brighton & Hove – we were established here 26 years ago – we are always keen to work with the local community and to support local initiatives. Tony is a gifted artist and Lulu & Hitch a fantastic local business with so much to offer. We are delighted with the way this project has come together and hope everyone will enjoy our fantastic display. We are also pleased that our display will create minimum waste as virtually everything in the window is for sale.”

Every year Leaders branches across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire compete with one another to create the best Christmas window display. Competition is always fierce, resulting in some excellent, original ideas, such as this one. This year Leaders in Hove hope to win the competition hands down.

The public are invited to vote for their favourite Leaders’ window - pop along to your local branches between 4^th and 11th December to check out their displays and vote for who you think should win.

If your vote is for the winning branch, your name will be entered into a prize draw to win a luxury Christmas Hamper from John Lewis! You can either vote in the branch or by sending an email specifying which branch you think looks the best to events@leaders.co.uk
