Must I wait for my temp pay?

I've been working as a temp for an employment agency in Brighton, but they now tell me that they cannot pay me because they haven't been paid by the client. What can I do? Kim

This is totally illegal and the Employment Agency cannot withhold payment to you as you are under a contract of employment with them.

I suggest that you contact the Recruitment and Employment Confederation www.rec.co.uk and ask for their assistance and/or your local Citizens Advice Bureau. Don't despair because you have a right to be paid for the time that you worked!
