Flash Mob Jazz provide an apt and brilliant soundtrack to the cabaret-inspired event, bringing in the first act – Miss Kitty Peels. A serenely smiling vision in silver spandex and antler headband, she writhes sassily on a trapeze to the strains of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Tap dancer Lee Payne is followed by the charming tones of Nastazja singing Hi De Hi De Hi De Hi.
Then it is over to Romany Diva of Magic, whose teeth alone are enough to beguile. The only woman to have been allowed into the Magic Circle, she begins by producing bird cages from thin air. Her magic is flawless, her patter witty – vintage entertainment at its finest.
As bedtime approaches, it is no surprise to see Milo Foster-Prior run on in pyjamas, clutching his cuddly bear.
Climbing up a rope, he finds an empty stocking and seems inconsolable, until the music tells him that Santa has not yet been. His resulting rope act is a sheer, at times heart-stopping, joy.
Music, sparkles and magic – don’t waste your time dreaming of a White Christmas. Book a ticket.
