POP singer Jessie J and boy band The Vamps are heading for Sussex to headline a new two-day music festival.

The stars will be performing at Boomerang, which is taking place at the Hickstead international arena in September.

Both will be taking to the stage on the second night of the festival on September 13.

Jessie J will perform songs from her three albums with favourites including Price Tag, Do it like a Dude, and, most recently, her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj on her top ten hit Bang Bang.

She said: “I'm really looking forward to playing with The Vamps at the Hickstead International Arena.

“It will be amazing to end the summer headlining at this great new event.”

The Vamps are known for their legions of fans and have done their own cover versions of hits by the likes of One Direction, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars.

In a statement the group said: “We’re super-excited to be co-headlining the first ever Boomerang event at Hickstead with Jessie J and can’t wait for our fans to see us in this wicked setting.”

Handpicked by programmer, John Empson, who has worked with artists such as Elton John, Oasis, Kasabian and Ellie Goulding, the bill offers the audience the opportunity to see some of their favourite stars perform in a ideal setting.

He said: “I’m delighted to be working with the team at Hickstead on their inaugural music event.

“The combination of the unique venue and world class headliners is sure to establish ‘Boomerang’ as an essential date on the live music calendar.”

Announcements of headliners on Saturday 12 and support acts will be announced at a later date.
