Two (very minor) gods have been assigned the task to study Earth’s civilisation so they can create their own planets.

And under that very loose storyline All In Theatre Company let rip in an irreverent, absurd and truly anarchic hour of silliness.

As they explore themes such as the history of art, war, money and health, the show itself is pretty disjointed with a genuine feel that anything could happen next.

As such the sketchy scenes themselves can be hit and miss. The great moments - such as recreating the classic poses of art, God with the voice of a spoilt toddler and a Gladiators-style battle across the space of the theatre – are hilarious.

Other skits, such as a take on the age-old operating table sketch and a courtroom scene, can descend into pure weirdness. And the set-up times between scenes in what is a pretty minimalist staging can slow down the action a little.

There is a childishness here – both gods are wide-eyed innocents throughout – tempered with swearing and gratuitous nudity making it very much a show for adults.

Aside from a moralistic few seconds at the end, the point is purely escapist entertainment, with the two performers having as much fun as the riotous audience.
