AKA have been hosting parties at Life for the best part of two years but they’re bringing a curtain down on their residency to take to stages and boats on the Eastern European festival circuit.

For their finale they’ve brought in Leeds producer Midland, one of the new breed of DJs equally adept at blending house, dubstep and techno. Also invited are Berlin techno and house DJ Nick Höppner, Kowton and Leon Vynehall.

Unless you’ve had your head buried in sand for the past decade, you’ll be aware who Mike Skinner is. The man behind The Streets – and more recently one half of indie-dance duo The D.O.T. – can legitimately claim to have achieved musical pioneer status.

He takes cues for his DJing from his Skinimix podcasts, showcasing his eclectic musical tastes ranging from house to hip-hop. Expect this to be busy – everyone knows Skinner can throw a party. Also on the bill are garage duo Double 99.

John 00 Fleming is a legend of the late 1990s clubland heyday, known for his trance sets that pushed the boundaries of the genre. He headlines J00F Editions, a showcase for his label of the same name.

Fleming’s mission statement is to return clubbing to its stripped-back origins, away from the VIP areas, celebrity DJs and mimed sets. Deep trance producer Dan Ascherl, Insert Name and Mark Illife complete the line-up.

The veteran selectah has been in the game for more than 35 years. He’s played warm-up slots for The Ramones, The Clash, Dr Feelgood and a whole host of other names in punk.

Expect a left-field set combining the best of rock ’n’ roll, reggae and Roma, for those with a preference for black t-shirts, loud guitars and the wrong side of the street.
