Thugf*****r, the Icelandic/American duo odd couple of Holmar Filipsson and Greg Oreck. Philipsson grew up on a commune and Oreck nearly became a politician. Having eschewed both paths for dance music they met in New York and formed a mighty combination, playing at the world’s best venues and having an EP put out on Seth Troxler’s Visionquest label. Making up the bill are Marlon Mahroyan, Chemical Play, Jody Van Jefford and Ollie Sturdy.

Right now Hot Creations are second only to Disclosure in terms of the most recognisable influence of house music on the UK pop chart. As one of the up-and-coming lights on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’s label, James Roberts is expected to make a big name for himself in the near future. James warms up for a season playing the label’s Paradise night at Ibiza’s famous DC:10 with a trip south to delight Brighton with a set of groovy techno.

Unabashed techno promoters Sicknote bring a heavy line-up to the Volks. The night is headlined by Radio Nasty, a collaboration that sees experimental veteran Billy Nasty link-up with Andrew Weatherall’s former Two Lone Swordsmen partner and technician, Radioactive Man. Also on the bill is Ben Coda, a prog-house composer, DJ and Ministry Of Sound regular.

Real Playaz records brings its regular night back to Brighton seafront to provide Concorde2 bass heads with their regular fix of D’n’B, jungle and old skool. Label boss and genre legend DJ Hype brings along a supporting cast featuring recent Annix, the duo of Decimal Bass and Konichi whose recent promo mix for Fabriclive blew-up online back in March. Also on the bill are Original Sin, Hizzle Guy and Curious back-to-back with DJ Rush.
