The seafront club formerly known as the The Beach has been refurbished and reborn as The Brighton Coalition.

It aims to host as many gigs as DJ events and will also be putting on comedy nights.

The venue has a new bespoke sound system, designed by same people who fitted out Wembley Stadium's, as well as seated pod areas and VIP zones.

The opening party welcomes the Guilty Pleasures crew, with founder Sean Rowley joined by "power ballad phenomenon" the Erection Section and The Glitter Banditz, who describe themselves as "slightly overweight and camper than the Scissor Sisters" and are known for their tongue-in-cheek dance routines.

  • Starts 9pm, tickets £10/£8. Visit www.thebrightoncoalition.co.uk.
