Tinie Tempah last visited Brighton in 2012 and since then has gone from strength to strength.

Last time he performed at the Brighton Dome. This time, for his Demonstration tour, the Brighton Centre was full.

Tinie is cool – really, really cool. Even when he is wearing dark sunglasses in a smoky arena and silver jeggings-style trousers with a matching bomber jacket, he is still cool.

His new material, he told the crowd, is “more mature”. He needed to tell people what he had been up to, he said. It is about a girl – I think Tinie might have been dumped.

The boys next to me said they wanted to hug Tinie after hearing his new tracks. They probably weren’t the only ones.

But his old songs were also incredibly popular. The crowd loved it when he sang Wonderman, which he originally performed with Ellie Goulding.

His energy and ability to bring life to his tracks makes Tinie a great showman. He is undoubtedly a talented writer and a fantastic rapper.

But more than that he comes across as enthusiastic and excited to be doing what he is doing – like he still cannot quite believe his deserved success.
