THE beautiful Worthing Pavilion was again a perfect setting for a night of latin and ballroom dancing from the television stars Pasha Kovalev and Katya Virshilas.

The two dancers from the BBC1 show performed with their team of four dancers to a full theatre, the crowd loving the great mix of jokes from the show's presenter and the dazzling performances.

The first half was lapped up by the appreciative crowd, finishing with a routine to a medley of Queen songs. During the interval the bar was abuzz with the day's news of Bruce Forsyth's retirement from the Strictly Come Dancing show.

Then in the second half Pasha and Katya kicked off with a jive to the Jerry Lee Lewis hit Great Balls of Fire. They then changed into their top hat and tails and ballgowns for a sensuous ballroom set to some swing classics from the backup music. These included Puttin' On the Ritz, Singin' in the Rain complete with Katya holding an umbrella and Frank Sinatra's New York, New York .

The crowd was totally in the mood  so when the request was made for three women to dance with Pasha on stage there was a mass show of hands betraying his popularity.

All three of them danced with the star so well they all gained huge rounds of applause. Those dances added a special touch of comedy which added to the relaxed feel of the night.

The second half also included a very dramatic Paso Doble.

The outfits of the six dancers also gave the night a glamorous feel.

This was the third time the show had come to the pavilion and going by Friday night's poularity it will be back. The show was again interspersed with some lovely performaces from Worthing's Glendale Theatre Arts School, which was a lovely touch.
