Dazzling songs, sizzling dance numbers and glittering costumes earned Rattonians a standing ovation as they marked their 30th anniversary by returning to the Congress Theatre for their 25th summer season.

West End To Broadway sees director Mark Adams and his wife Melanie produce and star in a wonderful production worthy of any professional company. Choreographers Jan Lynton, Karen Gurr, Claire Walker and Emma Cronk also excel.

Musical director Carl Greenwood contributes greatly to a splendid evening’s entertainment, although on Friday the orchestra was so powerful on a few occasions that some singers could not be clearly heard. But this was probably a first night microphone hiccup.

The delightful Chloe Shearer is outstanding and duets with sister Sophie in a stunning rendition of I Know Him So Well.

Samatha King, Meggie Dennis, James Hookway, Chloe Hurst, Heather Bilton and the Adlam brothers shine as well.

Younger Rattonians members play big parts in spectacular routines including a tribute to the First World War. Megan Clarke (Cosette in Les Miserables on the London stage) provides a superb solo, while Toby Lord and Emma Walker team up with Steve Clarke and Chloe Shearer in a zippy Chittty Chitty Bang Bang. This show rates among Rattonians' best!
