Grease proves a wise choice by The Rattonians as the last show in their 30th anniversary year and they make this classical rock and roll musical truly electrifying.

Producers Mark and Melanie Adams, who have not missed a show, come up with another production worthy of a professional company.

A talented cast, headed by the delightful Chloe Shearer and Ben Chaffin, treat us to old favourites You’re The One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Grease Lightning and Summer Nights.

The story revolves around a teenage romance, with Danny’s tough-guy imagine making it difficult for him to show he’s smitten with the squeaky-clean Sandy.

There’s a lot more going on at Rydell High where the boys are all testosterone and bravado in their efforts to impress the girls.

Meggie Dennis and Matt Wentworth excel as Rizzo and Roger, while Natalie Harper (Frenchy), Alice Potter (Marty), Daisy Bennett (Jan) and Ben Gurney (Kenickie) also impress.

Choreographer Jan Lynton, director Mark Adams and musical director Carl Greenwood provide excellent routines, while Daphne O’Mahony’s costumes capture the 1950s era.

This version does not deviate much from previous revivals of the 1978 film, but audiences love the nostalgia, and a closing medley goes down a storm.
