Dance troupe Diversity won Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 beating superstar singer Susan Boyle in the process.

Five years on and the all-male group were back with their electrifying second national tour Limitless – The Reboot, which proved they were not a forgotten talent show act.

The action-packed two-hour show was over an hour late in starting at the Brighton Centre on Sunday – a big problem when most of the audience had school in the morning.

When they finally arrived on stage, it was easy to see how technical problems could be an issue.

Far from just a street-dance show, this was a full-scale spectacular with fireworks, real flames and heart-stopping explosions.

With fantastic use of lights, video screens and moving sets, the show was lifted from a dance event into a far more satisfying experience.

The story followed a slightly convoluted plot resulting in the lads becoming responsible for saving the world from evil, personified by a sinuous, muscular baddie.

Diversity, headed by Ashley Banjo, travelled through a series of set pieces, including a joyous step back into the 1940s days of swing in order to carry out their mission.

Along the way there was death-defying escapology, flying, circus performers and even time for some romance.

Perri, with his trademark big hair and specs is now a long, lithe and superb dancer but was still cheered endlessly by his teenage fans who had grown up with him and still adore him.
