While everyone was eagerly awaiting the arrival of West-Coast rapper, The Game, there was a 90-minute pre-gig-hip-hop party that got the crowd rowdy and ready for the main act.

The night kicked off with a DJ who had the bass turned up so loud that it made your insides feel like jelly, which was proceeded by a few opening acts, such as the angel-voiced Pharaoh Prophet.

This was followed by a “I SAY THE, YOU SAY GAME” chant, and the audience was one big screaming wave of excitement.

He casually walked on stage wearing a white hockey mask, and instantly the broad-shouldered rapper dwarfed the small stage of Concorde 2.

He played a range of his material but the highlight was the rapper’s best known song, Hate It Or Love It.

Towards the end of his set, he played Drink The Night Away; after which he gave out shots of Grey Goose vodka to the front row, and proceeded to drink the rest of the bottle himself, in one seemingly lethal gulp.

Although looking queasy, he still managed to shout “Peace!” at the stunned audience and walk off stage without tripping, bringing an end to a sweaty and fun night.
