“We’re living our dream up here and we’ve got you to thank for it,” said Scott Bradlee after a captivating two-hour set.

A YouTube sensation with more than a hundred million views, pianist Bradlee and his ensemble of musicians take pop songs and play them in jazz, ragtime and swing styles.

From Britney Spears’ Womaniser, sung by sassy Ariana Savalas, clad in a 1920s dress, to Taylor Swift’s Blank Space, performed by the classy Morgan James, all of the US-based musicians were high-calibre.

The band included double bass, saxophone, trombone and burlesque- style dancers.

Wall-to-wall hot swaying bodies - many dressed in vintage clothes - made it a fight to see the stage, but it was worth it to feel transported back to a jazz club from a far-gone era, complete with glitz, glamour and mayhem.

Bradlee demonstrated his skill in an impromptu piano mash-up based on audience requests including hits by Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Led Zeppelin.

Songs such as Guns ‘N Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine will never seem the same again.

Finishing their Brighton debut with a fabulous encore of Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass, the ensemble promised to return.
