Returning to an old seaside haunt, Four Year Strong set out to silence any remaining naysayers.

The Massachusetts four-piece have experienced a turbulent few years, with some writing them off entirely. They proved themselves once and for all here, armed with choice cuts from the recent, aptly-named Go Down In History EP.

It wouldn’t do to overlook an impressive supporting cast, though. Birmingham’s Light You Up couldn’t be faulted for energy or sincerity, winning more than a few punters over.

Forever Came Calling fared even better. Their gritty, irrepressible pop-punk evoked the Warped Tour crowd of yesteryear, delivered at breakneck speed. No matter how familiar, it remained an enjoyable formula.

Seasoned campaigners in their own right, Hit The Lights put on a buoyant, alcohol-soaked greatest hits set. Closing number (and signature cut) Bodybag sparked a sizeable yell-a-long, the five-piece departing on a high.

Four Year Strong still carried the day. Performing with relentless intensity, they seemed like a band rejuvenated; their hardcore roots shining through.

From an emotionally-charged One Step At A Time to the circle-pitting frenzy of Maniac (R.O.D.), FYS struck a great balance between melody, ferocity and showmanship. They remain an adrenalin-fuelled force to be reckoned with.
