Whether or not you like Monty Python or saw their TV shows, the musical Spamalot, ripped off (by its own admission) from their 1975 Holy Grail film, makes for a great evening's entertainment.
There is the surreal silliness that was always a Python trademark, and there are enough echoes of the original material to please the aficionados, but this show is much more than a re-hash.
The singing and dancing are of high quality, and the clever and witty words are almost all audible, though the volume was as loud as this reviewer could bear sitting near the front of the stalls.
Joe Pasquale's King Arthur has great presence and brilliant comic timing. Almost always on stage, he showed no signs of becoming bored with a role he has now performed many times.
Lady Of The Lake Sarah Earnshaw showed that she can sing and affectionately parody any genre from throaty blues and soul to operatic prima donna - in every sense - with great musicality.
Likewise the dance routines sent up a whole range of styles from Riverdance to cheerleading majorettes.
History and mythology are also gently subverted in this thoroughly enjoyable show.
