inChoir are modern choirs for people who love to sing and raise money for charities.

inConcert brought together ten such choirs from Sussex and Surrey for an evening of exceptional entertainment.

This mass choir (just under 500 singers and needing three conductors) filled the Dome stage, its choir stalls and spilt over into the auditorium.

And what a glorious sound they made in a programme that encompassed songs from Gershwin through to Adele and Caro Emerald - each having been specially arranged to show the singers at their best.

The highlights were I Don’t Wanna Talk About It and Stars from the full choir and from the soloists – Jude Holden’s All That Jazz and the operatic talents of Karen O’Connor and Steph Whitelock in The Prayer.

There were several entertaining and enthusiastic contributions from the younger choirs (seven to 12 years old and 12 upwards). The older group almost stole the show with their version of Uptown Funk.

Emcee Mark Heppell added to the fun with his banter.

The concert was a demonstration of the power and joy that singing brings but above all it showed, in the words of the opening number, it is also Fun Fun Fun.
