Seether played to a packed house at Concorde 2 on Wednesday – and delivered a spellbinding 90 minutes of driving rock.

Billed as heavy rock and post grunge, the band may have been more Nirvana than The Beatles and the sound may have been more metal than country but these were skilled musicians who worked together well and complemented each other.

A good rock concert is more than a basket of a few disconnected songs and should be a visual and musical experience that holds the attention from beginning to end. In that respect, Seether delivered.

Behind the dynamic guitars and drums, the vocals were readily accessible and the songs memorable. The band are not going soft and continue to rock with the best but belted out a sound that was both complex and pleasant to the ear – hard driving but melodic.

This was a band that learnt their trade supporting some metal legends and have matured to produce their own original sound and headline in their own right.

Ranging from heavy metal grunge to ballads and acoustic numbers, this was a set that was enjoyable from beginning to end. It was an experience to savour and put in the memory bank.
