Top scores all round for our favourite ballroom couple in Just Gotta Dance, Anton du Beke and Erin Boag’s latest show, themed around big band showtime America and timeless Sinatra swing.

Joined by six world class ensemble dancers, the London Concert Orchestra and Strictly’s smooth singer Lance Ellington, glamour and glitz were in abundance.

Still our favourite ballroom couple stood out for their enviable elegance which showed no sign of cracks for all Erin’s pregnancy and the birth of baby Ewan a couple of years ago.

As for du Beke, he flies, he floats, he fleckerls like there’s no other way to move so it’s easy to forget the skill involved.

Harry and Magda perhaps got more than they bargained for by being late to take their seats in the front row and were given short shrift by Anton throughout – who was always keen to have a laugh.

But it must have been a night to remember for the little girl who asked about their favourite dances – Erin quickstep and Anton Foxtrot – and to share she loved to waltz.

A high energy finale was Too Darn Hot showing ballroom right up to date, Erin and girls substituting tailored trousers for frothy meringues. Strictly spectacular.
