AS you would expect Jason Derulo started and ended with a bang.

The upbeat show instantly grabbed the audience’s attention with hit single Trumpets.

His ‘official’ DJ - and biggest fan - warmed up the crowd before support act, ex-JLS member Aston Merrygold, took to the floor.

Then Talk Dirty, Ridin’ Solo and new single Get Ugly followed in a set list packed full of hits from the international superstar.

Interspersed with fairly self-indulgent moments of reflection, the show relived his ‘journey’ to stardom.

Joined by a live band, the multi-million record selling artist was clearly a showman with tightly choreographed dance moves, strong vocals and an eye-catching stage.

Over an hour and a half, fillers made time for somewhat questionable costume changes. The gospel priest was a highlight.

The predominantly female audience roared as Derulo appeared on a secret stage among his ‘people’ during track The Other Side, rallying them to be his 4,000 backing dancers. There was even time for the popstar to serenade one lucky follower with It Girl.

Full of Derulo’s hallmark ab flashing, the performance was slick and enjoyable, bringing the party to an explosive end with an encore of number one single Want to Want Me.
