ALL hail homecoming king Romesh Ranganathan as he rolls back in town for another leg of his side-clenching Irrational tour.

The TV funnyman returns to Crawley for this intimate gig to 800-odd at the Hawth Theatre. He’s come a long way, don’t you know, since performing to eight disinterested punters in this very town many years ago.

But while his hit BBC show Asian Provocateur is filmed in Sri Lanka, Ranganathan uses this opportunity to touch on life’s more basic headaches found closer to home. Family life, being addicted to his mobile and poor customer service.

Trademark downbeat humour is order of the night and Romesh doesn’t hold back his opinions on Madonna, the aging process and woes of sharing tables in Wagamamas and Starbucks… And why everybody should agree with him.

The former teacher-turned crowd pleaser is a well-travelled and cultured fellow who’s blessed with wit and intellect.

He’s still up for a row about iPhone v Android, however.

Shoutout to his former students at Hazlewick School in the audience too – and his dear mum who gets a round of applause from the crowd when they have a break from fits of giggles.

One liners and snappy observations of Ranganathan’s world-view expected. And an evening of guaranteed laughs, too.
