RECKLESS lyrics and fuzzy solos were the theme of the night, as the Cambridge-based punk outfit rocked Patterns last night.

It’s difficult to nail the versatile quartet down to a single genre, with them hovering somewhere between punk and slacker-rock.

Huge energy radiated around the basement venue throughout the set, feeding the eager crowd. The group didn’t hold back as they stormed through 2014 EP, Stitches. “I’m covered in blood, but at least I’m having fun,” snarled frontman Sam Conway as an over-exuberant flock of teenage girls clutched the railings in front of him.

Chanted vocals of Never Change were screamed back at the band and, for the first time in two years, a couple of new tracks were shown off, continuing in the same muddy style, leaving fans purring for a new release.

The band seemed eager to show their appreciation too, pausing at various points to offer their thanks to the pit of bouncing fans in front of them.

After a quiet couple of years, it would be easy to think Bloody Knees may have had their time. However, this night proved their is still life left and a new record is highly anticipated.
