The Dome saw a full house of extremely excited children and confused parents this weekend for the UK launch of YouTube star Dan TDM’s tour.

Dan, AKA the Diamond Minecart, is an internet sensation amassing over 12 million subscribers to his YouTube channel where he creates online worlds and adventures and commentates on computer gaming.

The Dome was full of excited energy for the performance.

As a non-parent taking my visiting nieces I had no idea who Dan was so did not know what to expect.

Dan knew I and many other parents were in the same predicament so took a moment to introduce himself and enlighten us to the success you can have from playing video games.

He then took the audience on a Dan TDM adventure battling his evil twin in order to rescue his pet pugs.

The show saw the audience take part in a series of gaming challenges to help defeat Dan’s evil twin and save Ellie and Darcie the pet pugs.

He was joined on stage by friends including fellow YouTuber, Stampy, to huge appreciation of the audience.

The performance included an educational and inspirational section aimed at the young audience with science experiments and advice on vlogging and great visuals and lighting.

Dan finally defeated his evil twin by taking a selfie of the entire audience and the place went crazy.

Who would have thought that playing computer games and talking about it could please 1,700 fans so much?

Right, where’s that Xbox?
