Danish electro-pop singer-songwriter MØ (pronounced moo) kicked off her UK tour at Concorde 2 in Brighton last night, performing to a sold-out audience.

The quirky performer, whose biggest hit is her collaboration with Major Lazer on the song Lean On, danced her way through her set while performing a mix of songs from her 2014 album No Mythologies to Follow and some new tracks.

MØ is similar to Canadian artist Grimes and knows how to put on a show.

The stage set-up and energy combined with the upbeat electronic tracks enabled the audience to let loose and have fun.

The audience, which was predominantly young women with a few surprising older fans, sang and danced along to every song and got more excitable as the set progressed.

Her new releases were not met with quite the same excitement, and one or two fell a little flat; MØ’s older music epitomised her individuality as a songwriter, while the new tracks felt a little over-produced.

MØ was supported by disco pop band Nimmo, whose energy and sheer enjoyment of performing was obvious to all in attendance.

The tour continues around the UK.
