It is undeniably heartwarming that after years cutting his teeth as a musician busking outside the Brighton Dome, Michael Rosenberg - aka Passenger - should be singing inside the venue as part of an extensive UK tour.

Still most famous for 2012 singalong anthem Let Her Go, Passenger recently released his seventh solo album Young as the Morning, Old as the Sea and treated the loyal, rapt audience to an hour and a half of finely crafted, poignant indie folk ballads - played passionately and with soul.

The Brighton born singer-songwriter and friend of Ed Sheeran is not just a talented musician; perhaps thanks to his years of busking, Passenger has the ability to make an audience laugh throughout a gig with more than a sprinkling of witty between-song banter.

Telling jokes, reminiscing about his Brighton schooldays and sharing some touching experiences about his travels in Scandinavia, Passenger belted out a succession of his trademark emotional songs such as new tracks Everything, Anywhere and Somebody's Love as well as a selection from previous albums.

After the incredible success of Let Her Go, some were quick to suggest Passenger might be a one hit wonder but his live renditions of jaunty songs with sad lyrics lifted him above many of his peers, and, like an iceberg, there’s a lot more to this talented musician than meets the eye.
