Neo-psychedelic band Temples played to a full house at Concorde 2 on Friday night.

The Kettering quartet's faithful take on acid rock transported the audience back to the 1960s as the band played songs from new album Volcano alongside their bigger hits from 2014 debut Sun Structures. It was a really summery, warm and relaxing vibe. Their performance was uplifting, summery and warm. The slick riffs hit hard, getting the crowd jumping and head-banging along.

They did, however, change their guitars after every song, which delayed the show time and somewhat ruined the mystique of the set as the house lights came on. The lighting was, for the most part, well thought-out and changed seamlessly along beat and mood changes. It achieved the same kaleidoscopic effect seen in their music videos.

However, there was a bright beam in the centre of the stage that continuously shone into the band's eyes, which became frustrating as it was unclear whether the lighting director had recognised this issue. In general, though, this was an enjoyable and chilled night.
