The Argus: Download of the Week
The Argus: birdengine

Birdengine

From: Brighton

Profile: Born Lawry Joseph Tilbury, Birdengine fled his Dorset country home to live in Brighton and make idiosyncratic pastoral freak folk armed just with his acoustic guitar, ethereal voice and four-track tape recorder.

Look out for his mini-album I Fed Thee Rabbit Water, which was released last year, and a new album set for release this year.

The Download Of The Week track is taken from Woodland Recordings compilation Home Taping Is Music, available from www.woodlandrecordings.com.

The compilation draws together 17 of the best local acoustic artists who have performed at the regular monthly night organised by the DIY label at the Komedia Studio Bar, including -a+M, Twenty-One Crows, Great Destroyer and previous Download Of The Week subjects The Great Park and Sons Of Noel And Adrian.
