Dirty Scavenger

From: Brighton

Influences: Tool, Deftones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Levellers, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Soundgarden.

Profile: Dirty Scavenger frontwoman Jo Maultby started her musical career at the age of 15 as a busker. Her experiences of being homeless and penniless have been incorporated into her work as part of the grunge three-piece, which also includes bassist Charlie Drayton and drummer Jonny Fenderson.

They create a sound Jo describes as sounding “a little bit like if Alanis Morrisette was fronting Led Zeppelin, or if Eddie Vedder was a woman”. Look out for the band’s forthcoming EP.
