Emily Baker

From: Brighton

Profile: Winner of the 2009 Arts Foundation Songwriting Award, and cited by ex-Libertine Pete Doherty as the musician who first influenced him to pick up a guitar, Emily Baker is preparing to release her long-awaited debut album later this month.

House Of Cards is being unleashed on Thursday, April 14, by Little Love Records.

It’s the culmination of a series of national tours and big name UK support slots, including Doherty at the Bournemouth Opera House and Hackney Empire, Squeeze’s Chris Difford, Jon Allen, Jesca Hoop, Beth Rowley, Frank Turner and Gabriella Cilmi.

She has played at the London City Showcase, at the second London Songwriters Week in 2009, Huntingdon’s Secret Garden Party, The Great Escape, and is just returning from The Folk Alliance Festival in Memphis.
